if 16 was 9

hey just a quick question.
i've got premiere, but i'd like to know how i can change the format ratio...
the footage has been shot in the normal 4:3 but i want to change it to 16:9 (without just squashing the picture) as i've accomodated for it when filming.

try the crop filter, you basically add black bars (as thick as you like) to the top and bottom of the image.

Hey there.

Yes.. but did you shoot with cropping in mind? Your going to be losing the top and bottom of the frame. Its going to mess up your compositions and look like sh*t. Just shoot and render at 4:3 untill you can afford cameras and lenses that will let you shoot in any kind of decent widescreen ratio.

There are plug ins for premiere online that will add bars and stuff for you but... When it comes down to it your shooting in 4:3. Just live with it and do the best you can.
